With the recent retirement of Deputy Director Ken Jensen, and after consultation with the managers involved, I have decided to reduce my Executive Staff by one Deputy Director and to combine the Economic Assistance and Employment Services Branches into one Branch under the leadership of Deputy Director Maria Gardner.
The only immediate impact of this change is that Division Chiefs Carolyn Robinson, Frank Mejia and Rene Garcia will now report to Maria. After discussions with the four of them, and others, I am very optimistic that this change will result in good things for our clients and our Department.
This change is effective immediately.
