Youth Impact Awards nominations open

by Barbara Finch, Community Networks Director

We are pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2017 Youth Impact Awards. These annual awards are presented to young people who have made a significant positive impact in Santa Barbara County by addressing issues of adversity. Nominees for the Youth Impact Awards may be individuals or groups of young people, between the ages of 10 and 18, who reside and/or attend school in Santa Barbara County. The deadline to submit a nomination is April 6, 2017.

Please feel free to distribute the nomination form to teachers and others who work with kids...and if you know of a youth who fits the criteria, please take the time to nominate them!

Two winners and four honorable mentions will receive small monetary awards, and all nominees will receive a certificate of acknowledgment. Winners and nominees will be honored at the Youth Impact Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Veterans' Memorial Community Center Auditorium, located at 313 Tunnell St., Santa Maria, CA 93454. The ceremony is free and open to the public, so we ask that you register online at www.YouthImpactAwards.com to ensure yourself a seat.
