I am pleased to announce the promotion of Sandy Gomez to Career Employment Specialist Supervisor in the Staff Development Division.
Sandy began her career in May 1992 in Lompoc as an AOP. In 1994 Sandy promoted to Eligibility Worker in the AFDC/CalWORKs program. During her eligibility career she served as an Employment Resource Liaison conducting mandatory orientations for all CalWORKs participants. Sandy also was part of the CalWIN Conversion Group during our go live to CalWIN where she worked on complicated cases to convert them in the CalWIN system.
In 2006 Sandy promoted to CES and has played a very active role in the Welfare to Work program. She was part of the first group of CES’s to pilot the WTW program. Sandy has seen many clients succeed in the program which she played a role in their success. She currently is the CalLearn CES county wide. She finds such great satisfaction working and encouraging the parenting youths in our community.
Sandy is looking forward to this new adventure in her career. The many years of experience will not only benefit Sandy’s future trainings but will benefit the current staff we serve . The enthusiasm and positive energy she displays in regards to the new CW 2.0 model will be shared with all as she supports the current staff in their application of this new approach.
Sandy has a Human Services Certificate from Allan Hancock College and UC Davis. She also will be receiving her Supervisory Training Certificate from UC Davis in November 2018. Please join me in welcoming Sandy to the Staff Development Division and wish her the best in her new position as a trainer in Staff Development.
