Big Kudos to eligibility worker Mayra Martinak! As always, Mayra goes above and beyond for her clients and even those that are not assigned to her.
On Friday 1/11/19 without hesitation Mayra jumped in to interview a client who had just gotten out of the hospital and was in extreme need of CalFresh, General Relief, and MediCal services. It was late in the afternoon on Friday and we had run out of same day appointments for interviews at SB CDR and as short staffed as we were, Mayra made time to see this client between her other appointments. The client was in a wheelchair and in bad condition and was in need of personal diapers. Mayra didn’t only grant client’s case that same day but she also went out of her way to go purchase diapers for this client!
I want to share with everyone the effort and the time that Mayra Martinak made for this client. She really made a huge difference in this client’s life that day, and she set a very good example of community service and unconditional help to others. This client left our office with an EBT card filled with benefits and with tears of joy rolling down her cheek. Thank you Mayra for all that you do and for your genuine actions.
