Renew 2022 is the plan to transform County government through five core elements of:
- Re-visioning the organization with an emphasis on core organizational values
- Re-balancing resources and services to increase revenue or savings
- Re-designing how work is done
- Responding to residents and customers with highest quality service
- Retaining high-performing employees and preparing the next generation of leaders
Highlights
of Progress
- One hundred supporting initiatives and strategies implemented to date
- 65% are either completed, ongoing, or progressing as planned
- Many involve the redesign of intradepartmental and cross-departmental processes to improve efficiency, reduce cost, or optimize service delivery
- The county has spent or earmarked $779,000 on several initiatives including paperless technology, a Leadership Certificate Program, and software to manage public records requests, and the first round of departmental Operational and Organizational Reviews.
The Operational and Organizational Reviews align with Re-Design. A key objective of Renew ’22
transformation is to explore the overall operational efficiency, effectiveness
and service delivery provided by the County and identify strengths,
opportunities, benchmarks and best practices. To achieve a deep-dive review, the
Board of Supervisors and County Executive Office committed to undertaking a
high-level, five-year assessment that will include all County departments and
provide opportunities for staff to participate.
