| Hamming it up in the photo booth area! |
On June 20th, we celebrated the hard work of all of our employees at our annual Employee Appreciation Day at Camino del Remedio. It was a great success! Check out this slide show, and read on for details and acknowledgments!
Our goal was for everyone to know that they are APPRECIATED every day, and that the work they do has a huge impact on the lives of many. Like our office's Reception Supervisor Maria Paz-Salazar says: “We make our community better, one client at a time, and offer service with a smile.”
Our theme this year was centered around Santa Barbara: enjoying where we live or work, and the community we serve. It was nice to see everyone taking a moment to hang out and enjoy each other’s company.
UC Davis was on hand to provide two sessions of the course Cross-Cultural Awareness: Working through Unconscious Bias. Those who were able to attend, gave it a thumbs-up.
Staff received a catered lunch from the Santa Barbara Food Connection. Desserts and water were contributed by the leadership team. A Santa Barbara theme photo booth was set up where staff had lots of fun taking pics.
Even the CalWORKs State Auditors, who happened to be on site, had a great time and joined in on the festivities. They were really impressed by the spirit of it all. One of the auditors even lead the crowd in dancing the Cupid Shuffle!
Special thanks to Facilities Manager Molly Marino and her staff, the Santa Barbara Supervisory Team (Carmen, Rosa, Maria D, Maria P, Hector, Blanca, and Dalet), and the other managers who worked hard to plan the day, and ensure a great time was had by all.
