| Answering questions at the Senior Fair |
Inez Ortiz and Susana Garcia, Intake Eligibility Workers in the Robinson division, represented DSS at the annual Senior Health Expo, held May 17th at the Dick DeWees Community Center in Lompoc. They helped with questions and applications for the CalFresh and Medi-Cal programs, serving 104 attendees and distributing 18 applications. A gift basket containing $15 in food items was donated and raffled off.
The Adult & Aging Network (AAN), coordinated by DSS, sponsored two screenings of the film Lives Well Lived at the Expo, with free popcorn and a photo booth for people to share their own definitions of a live well lived.
Another Senior Expo is scheduled for Santa Barbara on October 2, 2019 (see details).
