Basket Auction kickoff

Let's make a great basket!

Your participation in this year’s United Way Campaign is very much appreciated! One of the ways our department raises funds for the United Way is by auctioning off a "goodie" basket: together we craft a themed basket for an annual online gift basket auction. Read on to learn how you can take part!

This year, North County has selected a theme of "Fall Inspiration – Our Favorite Things!" for our basket. If you could please join this year in donating any of your favorite items to add to this basket and/or make a monetary donation of any amount by 9/18/19, it would be very much appreciated! 

Some examples of what you could donate would be:

• Anything Fall themed that can fit into a basket (socks, napkins/plates, wine glasses, candles, spreading knives, etc.)
• Basket items like or your favorite crackers, wine, beverages, Keurig pods, crackers, cheeses, gift cards from your favorite shopping spot, food places, etc. 

The list is really endless…

We are required to submit our basket on Friday, September 20th and will need to purchase and ready the items to meet this deadline. Note: donations after this date will still be accepted as the basket and items contained in it will be auctioned online beginning on September 30, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

Each of the following volunteers have agreed to initially collect items at their respective locations:

• Lompoc DSS: Carmen Nunez
• WRC/SM: Ericka Murillo/Camille Romero
• BSC: Alejandra Vargas
• Carmen Lane: Adalberto Velasquez
• Betteravia: Katie Bell

Ericka Murillo has graciously offered to collect the final items/monetary donations and arrange the basket and work with the United Way to auction it off.
