Please join me in welcoming Maria Cristina Hummer to
the DSS family! Cristina joins us today as our newest member of our
county wide Job Services unit. In her position as Career Employment
Specialist (CES) based in SB, she will support our many services we offer to
CalWORKs/NAFS/GR job seekers on their path to self-sufficiency. She is
spending her day today at our SB Connection Center learning more about what we
do and is eager to meet her new-coworkers and learn about Job Services.
Cristina joins us with extensive knowledge in the teaching field where she
worked with a diverse population of students, parents and administrators,
including her most recent experience working for the Goleta Union School District
as an Instructional Aide in the Special Education Program. Her experience
in the education field will assist her as she transitions to facilitating
various workshops delivered at our Connection Centers. Cristina is a
graduate of Santa Barbara City College with an AA-T & AA in Liberal Arts
and Sciences: Social & Behavioral Sciences as well as a BA degree in
Sociology from Cal State University, Channel Islands. Welcome and
