This is a reminder about mask wearing.
- All staff who have not provided proof of vaccination or self-attestation that they have been fully vaccinated MUST be wearing a mask at all times, except when eating or drinking at your desk.
- Having had Covid does not equate to being vaccinated and only those who have been vaccinated are allowed to be in the work place without a mask.
- We are working toward the safety and well-being of all staff by providing supervisors and managers a weekly list of which of their direct reports have provided a self-attestation or proof of vaccination so that anyone not wearing a mask and not on the list can be promptly engaged and their behavior corrected.
- Ongoing failure to comply with masking on the part of a person who has failed to self-attest that they have been fully vaccinated or provided proof of that vaccination will result in progressive discipline as the safety and well-being of all of our staff and clients is at stake, and because failure for an unvaccinated person to be masked in the workplace is a violation of CalOSHA rules.
- A fully vaccinated person may be choosing to wear a mask full time or part time – so the fact you see a person wearing a mask tells you nothing about their vaccination status. The Delta variant is proving to be easier to spread than other variants (2.7 times more easily spread according to an article that I recently read) and fully vaccinated people are becoming ill (though very very few are ending up in the hospital) so stopping the spread is of interest to all of us whether we are vaccinated or not.
