This is a brief introduction to the upcoming IT Migration to Microsoft 365 (M365) with the County of Santa Barbara.
The County of Santa Barbara is moving several key IT services into the cloud, leveraging M365. Email, Teams/Skype, and Collaboration (SharePoint/One Drive) will soon be cloud-hosted. The Office suite of products will also be available in the cloud if needed, but your locally-installed products will remain.
Here’s what our DSS IT Manager, Sean Boal, had to share about M365. “We are excited to bring Social Services improved collaboration and communication with the implementation of Office 365. I think staff are going to be excited when they discover the functionality and accessibility M365 and Teams has to offer.”
M365 makes it easier for us to collaborate, access documents and stay connected.
The migration will happen in waves (for a pre-determined set number of staff in Wave 1 and Wave 2, and then all remaining staff in Wave 3). Be on the lookout for messages from the DSS IT Team, requiring staff to take the actions outlined in each email.
