Today, Santa Barbara staff celebrated the hard work of all of our employees at our annual Employee Appreciation Day at Camino del Remedio. From the sights and sounds of it, the event was a tremendous success!

Whether you were able to be present with us or not, our goal was for each of you to know that you are APPRECIATED every day and that the work you do has a tremendous impact on the lives of many.
Our theme this year was DSS Carnival Daze: Celebrating YOU and all you do!
It was nice to see everyone taking a moment to hang out and enjoy each other’s company, getting acquainted or reacquainted. Staff Development promoted the “Getting to Know You” theme by using speed bingo game concept. What terrific fun was had by all who attended!
What more can we ask for than great food and great company.
We started off the day with a continental breakfast served by supervisors at your desk. We had training throughout the day; a carnival-themed photo booth; a scrumptious lunch by El Zarape; special words from our Deputy; a group photo session; and desserts to get us through the afternoon.
I would like to take this time to thank all the folks who helped out at today’s event from those who arrived early to help prep breakfast to those who served you. Putting together this event was challenging since we were on a tight budget and had to make every dollar stretch. It wouldn’t have been possible without donations and some creative maneuvering to get us the best deal in prices! This catered food typically go for twice what we paid for, but we made it happen.
