Here to help: your CalSAWS experts

Dalet Alvarado, above, is one of 40 Change Network Champions (CNC)
ready to help you transition to CalSAWS! Meet the CNCs for your office here.

By Lina Bickel, CalSAWS Project Manager

Many of your fellow DSS employees are working extra hard so they can be available to support you during the CalSAWS transition. They include Early Training participants, Train-the-Trainer participants, and Change Network Champions. All will be available to help End Users (that’s you!) during this period.

Early Training (ET) participants start their training curriculum sooner than End Users, so they can help you navigate the training. ET participants include selected supervisors, lead workers, CES staff, AOP staff, and DBS staff.

Train-the-Trainer (TTT) participants also start their training curriculum a little sooner than End Users. They receive the widest variety of courses and some instruction in the theory and practice of training. Selected TTT participants will assist in the classroom. Our TTT group includes Staff Development, DBS staff, and our CalSAWS Project Team.

The primary source of support as we Go Live will be our Change Network Champions (CNC). CNCs were identified by division managers based on their enthusiasm, ability to positively influence others, leadership qualities, and ability to manage their workload along with other responsibilities. Although the CNCs will train together with End Users, they have already been exposed to much of the curriculum. They will be available to help you in the classroom, and out on the floor during Go-Live. There are 40 CNCs across all divisions.

Meet your Change Network Champions here! This PDF slide show shows the names and photos of the CNCs in each office.

In addition, when we Go Live, you’ll have in-person assistance from CalSAWS Regional Managers, other Project staff, and staff from counties that already use CalSAWS.
