How it works
Cal Poly and Allan Hancock College’s new 2+2 sociology program allows transfer students near Hancock’s Santa Maria campus to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Cal Poly, without commuting to San Luis Obispo.
The program is designed with a more flexible schedule, including many classes that only meet in person once per week, so that non-traditional students can experience Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing environment while balancing other responsibilities.
Although students will take classes at Hancock, they will still be Mustangs. This program provides students with the same virtual access to Cal Poly resources: clubs, library resources, healthcare, advising, career support, clubs, etc. Students will also be able to attend events such as the Week of Welcome, sports events, performances, and more to experience Cal Poly’s campus community.
