By Nancy Saengjaeng, Division Chief
We recently celebrated the successful completion of our Administrative Office Professionals (AOPs) Induction training, a testament to our collective effort and commitment. On July 12, 2024, 11 AOPs officially finished their training and have already made significant contributions. A ceremony on July 19 honored their achievement as the first class to complete this program. Our division gained three additional positions following board approval on February 13, 2024. Coupled with current vacancies, we decided it was time to develop a formal training class for the AOPs to train all 11 new staff members effectively.
Traditionally, it has been up to the individual supervisors to figure out how to train employees independently, using their resources to maximize training effectiveness. This is not ideal. Our work is complex and essential, involving multiple duties, critical deadlines, and shifting priorities. Our onboarding and training processes must be consistent and standardized to provide the best tools and support for our new staff to succeed.
To ensure a smooth transition for the new team members, we developed comprehensive training modules. Key strategies included temporary supervisor reassignment, tailored training modules curated by Christina Ranis, and the involvement of subject matter experts. Special recognition goes to Christina Ranis for coordinating all our training efforts and overseeing this class and to Julian Valdez and the hiring team for their tireless work in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding this outstanding group of AOPs. Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in making this program successful.
We are grateful to the trainers, experts, mentors, and support staff who made this program successful.
Here are the trainers and subject matter experts involved:
• Imaging/Scanning: Patricia Gomez, Vanessa Oropeza
• Input: Daniel Barajas, Octavio Enriquez
• Application Registration: Daniel Barajas, Angelica Rodriguez, Isabel Vega
• Interactive Voice Response: Veronica Rangel, Irma Herrera Zarate, Adriana Cordova
• Lobby Management: Raul Cabrera, Maria Hurtado
• Support Staff: Victoria Trigueros, Rocio Gomez Gonzalez, and Sandra Sanchez.
The AOP graduates include Grisel Balderas, Leticia Cervantes Morales, Adrian Espindola, Maritza Garcia, LeAunna Giles, Jordan Jamison, Daniela Lopez, Fabian Mancera, Agustin Morales Alejandre, Leticia Ornelas, and Rudy Verdeja Cardenas.
Please join me in extending our warmest wishes to the new graduates. We are confident that they will bring their unique skills and perspectives to their roles as AOPs in the CORE Division, contributing to our continued success.
