The Benefit Service Center (BSC) has always contributed with helping Santa Barbara Couty residents be safe, supported and self-sufficient. Eligibility Staff support over 33,000 households with CalFresh, ensuring families have access to food and essential resources. In response to the federal shutdown, our BSC held a bake sale to raise funds for the Santa Barbara County Foodbank, and our team raised $632. This donation directly supports individuals and families struggling to put food on their table. Supervisors and Managers generously donated baked goods and treats, staff from every unit participated and the result was a powerful demonstration of what #OurBSC can accomplish.
Efforts like this remind us that our impact is not limited to the programs we administer, it extends into the broader community service that helps Santa Barbara County thrive.
