Introduction by Lina Bickel, Division Chief:
The work we do every day is crucial to the social safety net in our community. We're thankful for staff who understand how we make a difference, take their role seriously, and provide dedicated and compassionate service. That's what we saw today from DSS Cottage Hospital outreach worker Michelle Niro, BSC eligibility worker Andrea Ceron Moreno, and BSC office professional Ariana Ochoa.
Background by Carmen Rodarte, Eligibility Supervisor:
Work on this case began at 8:54 this morning. By 12:27 they had posted benefits, made clear and complete case
comments, made all the necessary phone calls, and had everything completed. This particular client is not
expected to make it past a few days. By taking the time to do
everything they did, they are allowing this client and his family to not have
to worry about how the medical bills will be paid. This is what our job is about!
Kudos by Michelle Niro, CF/MC Eligibility Worker:
I wanted to point out what a great job this BSC worker did today. Andrea Moreno was fantastic! She reviewed the case, returned my call, spoke with A/R and then processed and logged benefits immediately for the client. This was an example of customer service at its best and I think Ms. Moreno should be recognized.
Kudos by Andrea Ceron Moreno, BSC EW II:
An honest team effort today: Michelle Niro was able to grant me all the paperwork needed to process, and Ariana Ochoa was able to post benefits to MEDS almost immediately after my request. Thanks to my unit, my supervisor Maria Guerrero, and our division chief Lina Bickel for the great support and motivation.
