Promotion for Holly Morris

by Laurie Haro, Division Chief, CWS

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Holly Morris as a new Social Services Supervisor II in the Adult and Children’s Services Branch effective September 25, 2017.

Holly Morris graduated from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in 2005 with a Bachelor in Science degree in Child Development.

In March 2006, Holly began her career with Santa Barbara County Child Welfare Services, in the Multi-Integrated-System of Care (MISC) Unit/Ongoing Unit where she managed an ongoing/permanency caseload focused on children/adolescents with mental health needs.

In 2007, Holly transferred to the Assessment and Investigations (AIU) where she continued to expand her skills and expertise in Child Welfare Services. During this time, Holly was involved in mandated reporter trainings, peer mentoring, and was a Protective Service Lead Worker.

In 2011, while employed with Child Welfare Services, Holly enrolled in and completed the Master of Arts program in Psychology at Brandman University.

In 2012, Holly began her work with the Countywide Court Services Unit in Child Welfare Services, and was the primary Family Drug Treatment Court Worker. In this role, Holly worked closely with the Court, community partners, and UCSB on the Children Affected by Methamphetamine (CAM) grant, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Family Drug Treatment Court program, as well as collect data to evaluate areas of need in order to create positive outcomes for families.

In 2015, Holly transferred to Behavioral Wellness to become a Practitioner Intern where she provided mental health treatment to young children and Transition Age Youth (TAY). During her tenure with TAY, Holly has obtained extensive training in mental health related topics while sharpening her clinical skills.

Holly is looking forward to returning to Child Welfare Services as a Social Service Supervisor II. Holly’s extensive experience in Child Welfare Services will serve her well in her new role of Supervisor.
