We're excited to announce the first-ever all-department holiday progressive potluck!
Employees are encouraged and cordially invited to participate in a dine-around
potluck lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Dec. 20-21. The objective is to meet
County colleagues from other departments, see where others work, and enjoy some
noshing before the holidays. The South County dine-around is Thursday, Dec. 20, while North County is Friday, Dec. 21. This should be a fun activity and a great way to meet some of our County family. See this flyer (also available on County Connect) and click Read More below to learn how it works!
Staff wishing to participate
should find the facility location listed in the flyer nearest your work station and bring an item(s) assigned to each department. For example:
- if you work at DSS in SB, you'll take a main dish to the EU building (267 Camino del Remedio, across the street from our CDR office).
- if you work at DSS in SM, you'll take a main dish to the Betteravia Govt. Center Lobby/Hearing Room (511 Lakeside Pkwy., across the street from our Centerpointe office).
- if you work at DSS in Lompoc, you'll take a main dish to the Public Health Dept Conference Room (301 N. R St., next door to our Laurel Ave. office).
A map of the potluck will be provided at these locations showing where to go within walking distance to find an array of appetizers,
salads, desserts, main dishes and beverages (in some cases, more than one nearby building will be participating). The items should be brought to the location listed
beginning at 11:15 a.m. Not everyone lunches at the same time, but once
the lunch has ended at 1:30 p.m., feel free to divvy up the leftovers and take
them home.
You can team up with others to bring a dish together, or bring one on your own. As this activity is on your lunch break, be sure to check with your supervisor soon if you'd like to adjust your schedule on the day you participate to ensure you have enough time. If you aren't working at your home office that day, you can attend at whatever site is most convenient, even if DSS doesn't have a table there.
Additionally, we are extending the collection to
give to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots and Unity Shoppe Holiday Food Drive. If you would like to donate new, unwrapped toys or food and toiletries, you
can bring donations to the potluck and we’ll ensure delivery in time for the
holidays.
If you have questions, please
contact your supervisor, or one of your departmental Renew ’22 Ambassadors (Alma Janabajab, Lina Bickel, Noel Lossing, or Dennis Tivey), or Gina DePinto in the CEO Office at gdepinto@countyofsb.org or (805)
568-3428.
