Vetarans Stand Down 2018 wrap-up

DSS staff were on hand to help veterans with CalFresh and other programs

We successfully held our seventh annual Santa Barbara County Veterans Stand Down event on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Santa Maria Fairpark. Overall, we made a huge difference to those we served.  

We had over 100 service providers, employers, educators, and additional civic groups represented at the event to provide a wide range of services to our veterans and their families. DSS was there to represent several of our own programs as well.

We are fortunate to live in a caring community of wonderful people who come out to support our heroes who have given so much to us for our freedom. Thank you to all of our DSS volunteers and to those of you who made donations during our collection drive. Your support and generosity is very much appreciated! We are already planning for next year’s event on 10-19-19!
