Biting into a new career with JOB$

Bella was referred to the JOB$ program by former CES Diane Ouellette. Diane saw the potential and education she had and requested that we place Bella in a dental office. I visited a few dental offices in the Lompoc area and was able to present the JOB$ program to office mangers.

A relatively new dental office called me back the next day and said they would like to interview Bella. She successfully interviewed and was offered a position there through the JOB$ program.

Although there have been some barriers to overcome, with the assistance of CES’s Ouellette and JR Reyes, Bella has excelled at her dental assistant position.  Some of her job duties include X-rays, setting up the dental examination room, and assisting the dentist during dental procedures.

The dental office has communicated with me that they are not only pleased with Bella’s work ethic, but also the way she has become one of their office team members. They are in the final steps of submitting their paperwork for Tier 2 and have made a commitment to hire Bella as a dental assistant.
