Albert came into the JOB$ program with a goal of
developing his auto mechanic skills to make himself more employable. Albert never was employed in the auto mechanic
career area but had a desire to gain experience.
We were able to secure an interview with Chuck, the owner of a local auto repair shop in Lompoc. Chuck and Albert were able to meet each other and Albert successfully
interviewed and was offered a position with the company through the JOB$
program.
Throughout Albert’s six-month placement, he was able to gain
experience with repairing and changing tires, advising customers on proper tires
for their vehicle, performing vehicle oil changes and minor maintenance, and experiencing the daily functions of an automobile mechanic.
As of 2-25-19, Albert is now employed by the company (Tier 2). He and his family are proud
that he has accomplished his goal of being employed in the automotive repair
industry.
