| Carolina Carrillo accepting her plaque and award from Sup. Lavagnino |
At Supervisor Lavagnino's annual Veterans Stand Down Wrap-Up luncheon on November 6, he thanked our Department several times for all of the outstanding work we do on the Stand Down every year. Thank you all for your assistance and help again this year! It is exciting to know that all of you are able to be involved in some way and I appreciate your help and efforts on behalf of our Veterans and our Department.
On top of that, our own Carolina Carrillo received the first ever “County Employee of the Year” award for her efforts this year! She was completely surprised and I don’t think I will ever forget the look on her face. Carolina was recognized for her behind-the-scenes work with Frank Mejia to coordinate the online registration process for over 100 service providers, and the online registration process for another 400 volunteers where she helps Sandy Agalos. On the day of the event, she helped with front gate veteran registrations, the volunteer gate registrations (which went electronic this year), and helped in the homeless boot distribution area when needed.
Additionally, on November 19 the Board of Supervisors will adopt a resolution honoring the Santa Barbara County employees who volunteer at the Veterans Stand Down.
Congrats, Carolina and thank you all again!
