The event's Online Gift Basket Silent Auction is starting TODAY. The auction will run from October 12 to October 31st, and all proceeds will be included in the County’s Employee Giving Campaign. You can view all 38 gift baskets that are up for auction and get your bids in at the online auction site.
Our Department has provided a basket for the basket auction. Our basket's theme is a Celebration in a Basket: see the photo above or check out this list of all the items in it. As we approach the end of the year, the theme ties in with the fall and winter season, including this month’s National Hispanic Heritage Month. As we gather with family and friends for the upcoming holidays or just because, we have items for décor and entertaining. Or if you prefer to relax, cozy up and enjoy a book, this basket has you covered! A very special thank you to all those that donated an item or donated money. Please check the auction for other baskets created by other County Departments as well.
Another way to participate in the 2022 Employee Giving Campaign is by donating through payroll deduction. Our County employees can give directly to United Way of Santa Barbara to support its local education, financial stability, and disaster relief programs in our community or to any 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of your choice. Payroll Deduction is a convenient way to give and it provides year-round support to our nonprofit community. Access the online giving portal to make a payroll pledge or credit card donation.
We encourage you to learn more about United Way of Santa Barbara’s work at unitedwaysb.org and unitedwaylife.org.
Finally, don’t forget to attend one of the three Rock and Rock Benefits Festivals where your Employee Giving Campaign Committee will have a table with the Homemade Hero Auction items (Employee made) ready for bidding. Winners will take their belongings at the end of each festival day: in Lompoc on October 18 from 12:30-2:30; in Santa Maria on October 19 from 10:30-2:00; and in Santa Barbara on October 20 from 10:30-2:00.
Thank you for all that you do to support our county—and thank you for the incredible, important work you do every day to make the County a better place in which to live. We hope that you will join us in supporting the 2022 Employee Giving Campaign and Become Someone’s Hero!
