Two of our dedicated team members, Kasha Pope, and Brent Hamashita, represented DSS in a community outreach event at the Santa Barbara Housing Day, which took place on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at De La Guerra Plaza in downtown Santa Barbara. The event focused on addressing housing affordability for all residents. It allowed community members to connect with local non-profit agencies and service providers, offering valuable resources in the search for affordable housing. Throughout the day, our team engaged with approximately 50 members of the community who stopped by our booth with questions about services related to the various programs we offer, including CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and housing support. This high level of interest reflects our work's importance and impact on the community we serve.
