DSS recently hosted a “Safe Life, Save Lives” event at the Camino Del Remedio Campus, focusing on emergency preparedness and saving lives. The Vitalant Bloodmobile was present. Thanks to the generosity of County employees, we collected 16 donations, contributing to help save lives during emergencies. The American Red Cross was present to share resources on evacuation preparedness. The Animal Shelter of Santa Barbara provided valuable information on volunteer opportunities and resources to prepare pets for emergencies. And who can forget our furry friends from the Therapy Dogs of Santa Barbara, who brought joy and comfort to everyone? A big thank you to all our partner organizations that came out for the event and all the staff who participated.
