On Friday, February 2nd, Mayra Martinak and Maria Romero participated in the “Tacos and Taxes” event, promoting free tax preparation services, at Santa Barbara City College. They helped spread the word about the services we offer. They were joined by representatives from other community organizations who provided resources on financial literacy, education, and health services. The event was sponsored by Supervisor Laura Capp’s office in collaboration with Senator Limon, Assembly Member Hart, and United Way of Santa Barbara County. The event’s main purpose was to provide free tax preparation services for low–income individuals and families who may be eligible for tax credits and to raise awareness about the importance of filing taxes. The event was a successful collaboration with our partners in engaging the community.
