This summer, our team continued to step outside the office and into the heart of the Santa Barbara community. On July 24, Brenda Carrillo and Daniela Gonzalez participated in the Showers of Blessing event, connecting with some of our most vulnerable populations while also learning about a community organization called Doctors Without Walls, which provides critical medical services to our most vulnerable neighbors. On August 7th, Mayra Martinak and Maria Dwyer participated in the SB Back-to-School Health Fair. On August 26, Nanci Pfarr and Maria Dwyer represented our team at the Santa Barbara Farmers’ Market. Surrounded by fresh food and music, they received applications and answered questions about the different programs we offer. During all three events, we met the people and stories behind the “cases” we process daily. These events allow us to connect face-to-face, meet with community members where they are, and strengthen connections with organizations that share our mission to serve.
