Celebrating a Year of Learning: Page Turner’s Society Supervisors

By Nancy Saengjaeng, Division Chief

Veronica Alvarez and I are proud to recognize the supervisors who completed a full year of the Page Turner’s Society Book Club. This achievement reflects a strong commitment to leadership development, continuous learning, and professional growth.

Designed for DSS supervisors, this year-long program brought colleagues together every other month to explore six leadership-focused books, engage in thoughtful discussions, and connect beyond daily operations.

Impact

Participants gained new leadership perspectives, strengthened critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and built meaningful professional relationships. The program also fostered open dialogue, encouraged diverse viewpoints, and promoted a positive learning culture across teams.

What Participants Are Saying

  • “A really enjoyable experience…hearing both new and seasoned supervisors brought valuable perspectives.”
  • “A safe space to share and build connections over the year.”
  • “I learned the value of empowering others by asking thoughtful questions rather than jumping in to fix things.”

Completing the Page Turner’s Society is no small feat. Thank you to all participants for your dedication and for modeling a culture of learning.
