My family and I wanted to thank you for your compassionate support, during our Medi-Cal application process for [my uncle] last October and November. We will always be grateful to you, Myra, for your expedient assistance; you didn't allow him to get "lost in the system." You came to our aid with sincere and personal concern, and generous guidance. Through your kindness, [my uncle] was able to obtain the coverage he needed, and so was able to enter Serenity House last November on the very day he became unable to stand on his own. He received extraordinary 24 hour care for the last month of his life, and he finally succumbed to brain cancer on December 14, 2017.
We find ourselves looking back at the extraordinary people who helped make [my uncle's] life more comfortable in the end, even though they were just doing their job.
