The new kitchen in Santa Barbara

Our Facilities & Disaster Services division has been hard at work on building upgrades. See what’s new below!
CDR:
- 2 new water bottle filling stations coming soon (replacing older water fountains)
- New breakroom furniture has been ordered - expected early October
- Kitchen renovation complete with new ice machine and refrigerator
Lompoc:
- New water bottle filling station coming soon (replacing older water fountain)
- Building was recently pressure-washed and windows cleaned
- Redesign & reconfiguration project coming in 2024
- New security guard services from 8am – 6pm
Betteravia:
- 3 new water bottle filling stations have been installed, 1 per floor
- New refrigerators in 1st and 2nd floor breakrooms
- 2nd floor kitchen has been renovated, and new marmoleum flooring will be installed in early September
- New breakroom furniture expected November 2023
- 3rd floor reconfiguration coming
- 2nd floor reconfiguration project in 2024
BSC:
- 2 new water bottle filling stations on the way
- Patio update includes new painted floor and shade on its way
- New office built-outs in process
- New interior signs
WRC:
- Lobby renovation coming soon
- Painting touch-ups
Carmen:
- New ice machine
- Working with landlord to update parking lot
- New roof coming
Safety Updates:
- Sharps Containers: Installing sharps containers throughout our buildings with updated instructions to Facilities staff for property handling and disposal.
- Panic Hardware: Tested panic hardware and updated as needed. Policy & procedure updates are coming, and we will be training staff how to use the system in each building.
- Paging System: We tested the paging system and found a number of gaps in the system. IT is helping troubleshoot & update the system.
- Evacuation bags & drills: Sweeper and BEC bags are being updated, and new drills coming in October.
