Introducing Victoria Ortiz, the newest addition to the CDR team. She joins us through the Goodwill Youth Career Service program. Victoria is a local Santa Barbaran and a graduate of San Marcos High School and UC San Diego. She is bilingual, proficient in the Microsoft suite, and a quick learner.
Victoria is the second intern placed at DSS this year as part of our ongoing partnership with Goodwill. The Youth Care Services Program, operated by Goodwill under the Santa Barbara County Workforce Development Board, aims to equip youth and adults with the skills and training necessary for a successful future.
Through this program, Goodwill helps participants like Victoria gain access to various opportunities, including leadership development, college preparation, financial literacy, and training opportunities. Earlier this year, the Board of Supervisors approved DSS’s collaboration with Goodwill. It reflects our commitment to community engagement and cultivating tomorrow’s workforce.
